Cambridge Floorball Club
  • The training schedule has now been updated with the summer dates, here
  • Well, the SE League is finished ad we finished 5th, which is not a bad result to be honest. All faught hard and well over the year. Hopefully we will be able to enter a team the next season as well.
  • Round T9 at Godalming yesterday was yet another impressive display, especially considering we ended up with only 5 outfiled players and a goalkeeper, i.e., NO subs! We met London Hammerhead Sharks, which from previous results isn't one of the stronger teams. However, they had 12 outfield players! Luckily none of them overly skillfull, so we got to have the ball most of the time and after the first 20min we had 3-0 on them. After another 20min we went up to 5-0 and a few minutes into the 3rd period we got to 6-0. At this stage we were starting to get a bit tired though so we let slip a couple of times and the final score was 6-2.
  • Round T8 at Godalming yesterday was a bit of a mixed bag! We knew it was going to be a tough round as we were facing first London Crusaders and then London Vikings. Again London Crusaders we kept it well together and managed to beat them 5-3. In the second game agains London Vikings things didn't go our way and we lost 1-17.
  • We played league round T6 at Godalming yesterday with great success! First game was against East Kent Warriors, which we were hoping to be nice and comfortable. It was a relaxed game with no penalties for either team and we had most of the ball, and finally we got the goal scoring going! The game ended 10-0 in our favour. The second game was against Oxford. This we knew would be a tough cookie to crumble, they are also mid table like us and play to a similar level. We started off a bit like headless chickens and they got the first goal. However, a bit of calming down and we qickly went up to 3-1 before the managed to reduce to 3-2. For the rest of the match we were 2 goals ahead most of the time. With 10 minutes left we had 8-6 and felt pretty comfortable with our game. Unfortunately a couple of slip ups from us brought the game to 8-8. Luckily with a few minutes left of the game Juraj pulled off a nice stunt! Going straight from winning a face off in the corner to the front of goal scoring the winner!
  • 2010 training schedule is now online here. We still play Tuesdays, but we have now moved to Chesterton Sport Centre, where we train from 20.00 to 22.00.
  • Results from the second round of the SE league are in! Better then the first one! We started off playing Basingstoke Barracudas, very even and tight game ending 4-3 in our favour (nice with the first win of the season!). The second games was a comfortable with against Southern Vipers. We were never really in trouble, picking up 3 straight forward points with a 9-4 win.
  • Bit of a slow start to the season. We started off against Brighton Rock playing pretty decent, being 1 up and 2-1 up before slipping a bit towards the end and loosing 2-3. The second match against London Greatwhite Sharks was a tough one, which we kept up well for two periods (being 1-3 down after the second). Mainly due to sveral people getting frustrated in the 3rd period we drifted off and ended up with a 2-8 loss. Not the best of starts to the new season, however it was two of the stronger teams in the league so we should not be embarrassed!
  • The first round in the South Eastern League is on the 22nd of November. We'll be playing Brighton Rock and Greatwhite Sharks. For details on of the playing schedule have a look at the Event Calender
  • The website is now fully functioning with up to date information, contact form, guest book, etc.
  • We had a great day out on the 27th with three wins out of three at the friendly tournament. The results were:
    • Cambridge-Ilmington Eagles 12-1
    • Cambridge-East Kent Warriors 11-0
    • Cambridge-Southern Vipers 8-0
  • Cambridge is entering the South Eastern League the season 2009-10, see the Event Calender for details on dates and results.
  • We have been invited to a second round of friendly games this coming weekend. We'll be playing East Kent Warriors (host), Southern Vipers and Ilmington Eagles.
  • On the 19th of July we played two friendly games against Reading Raptors and Southern Vipers. We left Cambridge with a slighlty decimated squad in the morning, but were fortunate to be able to borrow a couple of players from SV on the day. The results were a bit of a mixed bag with us beating Reading 4-1 and loosing to Southern Vipers with 2-6. Hopefully we'll improve the form a bit further in time for the SE League start in November!
